How-To Guide?

I suppose its good in these tough economic time to see that someone put together a little informative brochure for the aspiring job seeker.

It was however disturbing to learn that this was done in conjunction with the Girl-Scouts!

Even worse, my daughter made the guide!

I think what was best about all of this is that no one at her meeting said anything to her at the meeting last year. It wasn't until she proudly showed it to me that I realized she forgot an S in "Horses"

Playing Catch-Up

The good thing is that really not too much has changed since my hiatus. I'll try to hits some of the key points. So please fasten your seat belts and keep your arms and legs inside the ride at all times.

Took a family trip to Destin, Florida. Got sunburned despite swimming in vats of sunscreen each day.

Yes, my wife drinks Rockstar too!

My youngest started taking Martial Arts with the rest of the kids.
It was short lived, but cute while it lasted. She loved doing it, just never wanted to be bothered when it was time to go.

Survived Hurricane Gustav without power for 2 weeks.
Who's complaining about daddy's cool stone tile floor now!

We now also own a nice big generated.

Special F-U to FEMA who did absolutely nothing to help us. Apparently because we make a decent living we don't need to be reimbursed for all the food lost or the astronomical gas prices and running a generator to keep the family alive in the 95+ heat.

Went to Lotusphere this year. Caught up with some old friends like Shamus. Met JV briefly. Won a Toshiba HDTV.

Older kids are still in Martial Arts (tho the named changed).

Let's see, what else.

My wife left Starbucks. The made her the Grim Reaper and started sending her to various stores to shut them down. Needless to say, people didn't treat her to well when they seen her coming. The person over her was a real dick and she decided enough was enough. A story in itself for another day, but she's now (re)doing her certification for teaching and will be assigned to a school in the fall.

Me, well.... sometimes its good to not have much change. I still work in the same place. Still enjoy what I do and the people around me. Life can be good like that sometimes.

Random Posting

If there is one thing that is going to draw me back into posting (aside from all the wonderful emails and such asking why I don't post anymore) is good ol' fashion, grade A, unadulterated, 100% Stupidity. In this case, by the Catholic Church in Brasil. Go ahead, catch up on the story, I'll wait here till you get back...

Ok.. finished?

Good.

What kind of skewed system of rules are they following? So they ex-communicate the doctors which performed what was probably a life-saving abortion. OK.... apparently God's law has no grey area for common sense. Now how about the part where they didn't ex-communicate the girl only because children are exempt. If God's law prohibits the taking of innocent life, wouldn't ignoring a 9 year old with twins growing inside her sort of be like allowing her's to be taken? Oh that's right, no grey area. "Lucky" for her there was a clause for her being a child.

Let's go ahead and follow God's law (as interpreted by the Catholic church of Brasil) and go and toss them out for their haneous disregard for the lives of the twins. Yes, the twins put there as a result of bring raped by her step-father. I'm guessing the Archbishop is going to come down with the fullest extent of the smite stick on this arse hat right?

No. Of course Not.

Nothing.

No ex-communication for him.

Because clearly, raping your own step-daughter since she was 6 isn't enough for the church to turn its back on you.

Open your eyes Brasil! That's not religeon, its just some idiot with a silly hat.
